Some Small Finishes

I just recently finished two small projects.  I realized that it is so much fun to quilt small things.  :)

One of those projects is the pillows which were a gift for Mrs. Fox.  She was Panda Man's preschool teacher this year, and is absolutely fabulous.  So I made her quilted fox and chevron pillows.

One side is the cute fox print.  It is from the Walk in the Woods line by Aneela Hoey.

And the other side was a fun chevron print.  It is the Remix Chevron by Ann Kelle.

The nice thing was that I found both of these prints in the clearance section at a local quilt shop.  Panda Man even made a cute fox card to go with the gifts, and I found a stamp and note cards to complete the set.

I am pleased to say that Mrs. Fox LOVED all of the fox goodies.

The other item I finished is this cute mini/doll quilt.  It finishes at 16 x 20 inches and fits perfectly on my doll bed.

I made the quilt top to show the three layers of a quilt at a display earlier this month.  I love finishing things so much that it was hard for me to leave it like this for the display.

I used a special quilting ruler to create the dogwood quilting design.  My ruler was the perfect size for these 2 inch finished squares.  (I used my sit down quilting machine, Princess, to quilt this mini.)

I love how it turned out, but don't know if I would do the same thing on a larger project.

I think I like the back even more than the front.

If you have any questions about quilting with rulers, you really should check out Amy's Free Motion Mondays for this month (May 2014).  She has a lot of ideas, and even talks about ruler feet for regular sewing machines.

Sometimes it is really nice to have a couple quick finishes.

Jasmine

P.S.  I will be linking up with Free Motion Monday (a ruler series), Let's Bee Social, Needle and Thread Thursday, and Can I Get a Whoop Whoop. The links are all on my side bar.  Plus, I will link up with Finish it up Friday at Crazy Mom Quilts
