Talent Night

I participated in a Ward Talent Night at church earlier this year.  There were live performances (including my husband playing the piano and Cheetah performing the Samba) and displays around the room.  I was volunteered to display some of my quilts.  I set up a practice display at home, but then forgot to take pictures at the church.

It looked pretty much the same as the set-up at home.  However, I had some fliers by the sign inviting people to my new quilting group.  I am happy to say that there are about five people participating in a Ward Quilt Group which I host in my house.  It has been so much fun getting to know other quilters and teaching more ladies about sewing and quilting.

So far we have made table runners like in my display, had a quilting demonstration, and made pillow cases.  I look forward to more meetings with my new quilting friends.

XX,
Jasmine

  1. Tell me more about your quilting group. Do your projects only take one night to complete? What else do you plan on making? Can all your ladies quilt?

  2. I have to admit that my brain is not quite awake this morning. I did a double take and though, "Jasmine must not mean this. What is a Weird Talent Night?" I'm so glad I finally read it correctly. o_O How exciting to be cultivating a group of quilting friends. I hope that it is a wonderful start of new friendships and quilting exploration.

  3. That sounds like a fun talent night! It's great that you have some new sewing friends to meet with. Sewing 'with' online friends is wonderful, and for a long time that was the only sewing with friends I had, but there's something even better about actually sewing in person with friends. Enjoy!

  4. It's so nice that people value your work so you keep getting "volunteered" to share your quilting! Your quilting group sounds like productive fun. Are you making projects for charity, or are you making them for your own use? Well, whatever they are for, enjoy sharing quilt-y time with friends. :-)
