I have already started working on my June goal for A Lovely Year of Finishes. The top for my brother's quilt is all pieced. The red color is Kona Crimson, much more masculine than the one I ended up keeping. (It has more of a purple color.)
I have had so much fun working on my brother's quilt, because I love quilts that are black and white plus one more color. I consider my craft room to be "black and white plus bright" because of the quilts and storage boxes in there.
As this is post #101 for me, I have decided to have my first giveaway. I am willing to ship this charm pack internationally, so anyone can enter. It is the Weeds line by Me & My Sister Designs which is black and white plus red.
To be entered in the giveaway leave me a comment* telling me what is your favorite black and white plus one color combination. (And it doesn't have to be red!) This giveaway will remain open until Saturday, June 7 at midnight. I will notify the winner by email and add the winner's name to the end of this post. Please make sure I can contact you.
*If for some reason blogger won't let you leave a comment, email me your answer at quilt (dot) kisses (at) gmail (dot) com and I will enter you in the giveaway. :)
~This giveaway is now closed, and I would like to congratulate Beth.~

P.S. I will be linking up with Let's Bee Social and Needle and Thread Thursday.
I love black, white, and pink together! My daughter made a gorgeous black, white and green quilt a few years ago and I've got to admit that I was quite skeptical, but it came out beautifully.
ReplyDeleteYou are fast! The quilt top looks great! There are SO MANY "black white & ___" options that I love. I think the two that come to mind right now are black, white & turquoise and black, white & lime green. I happen to be working on a black, white & red at the moment.
ReplyDeleteBlack, white and teal is s great combination.
ReplyDeleteVery striking quilt for your brother! I love yellow with black and white!
ReplyDeleteI thought the black, white and maroon(?) was beautiful, but your brother's quilt top with red is so gorgeous too! I like black, white and yellow . . . the bumblebee effect? Love your work!
ReplyDeleteWow - the quilt top went together super fast! Tough choice for me, but I think I would have to pick black and white and royal blue. :)
ReplyDeleteI am with Yvonne. Black, white and royal blue. But I have to say I love that grape juice purple you used looks really nice. Looking forward to reading your next 100 posts!
ReplyDeleteI love the black, white and red combination and good thing since it is Badgerland here!
ReplyDeleteBTW, you are a speed piecer! Love the quilt you just made up too!
ReplyDeleteI like black, white, and lime green! however, your B&W + purple is probably a close second :)
ReplyDeletePretty much everything goes with black and white, except maybe brown. But my favorite color to add IS red. It is my all time favorite color and makes everything better!
ReplyDeleteI love your black and white plus one quilts!

Black and white are so classic and the addition of one more colour is perfection. :o)
ReplyDeleteChuckling as I look closer at those B&W fabrics - love that mustache print!
Good job on getting so far along in your June goal so early in the month! I love black/white/aqua or black/white/lime.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance in the give away!!
Looking good! I would say black, white, grey :-) I'm a bit monochromatic, lol.
ReplyDeleteYour brother will love the quilt. I would. My favourite colours seem to change from day to day and mood to mood. At this moment my favourite colour, to add to black and white, would be turquoise.
ReplyDeleteYour brother is going to love it for sure. Beautiful! Congratulations on your 101st post :) Black, white and yellow. Every time I see a quilt made with them I think I have to make one. . . haven't yet but it is on my list!
ReplyDeleteBlack white and red is always dramatic
ReplyDeleteLove your color choice for this quilt! I will have to pick red, because I love red :)
ReplyDeleteI like red as an accent color, but yellow is also pretty nice! I may or may not be in a yellow mood these days. I bought fabric for three different projects this week... they all included yellow! :P Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI've made 2 black and white quilts and they both had extra colour added. One had a moss green in it and the other one had a colour wheel in the center and the background was pieced black & white triangles. I like your checkerboard quilt...maybe I have enough black & white scraps to make my own :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!!
Congrats on your 101'st post. I love your black and white plus one quilts. The minky backing looks so soft. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 101 posts. I am so impressed. I think I will try a black and white and pink! I have so many girls, pink is always a winner!
ReplyDeleteI like the combination of black and white plus yellow. It reminds me of a bee! Great job on your brother's quilt. The Kona Crimson was a great choice!
