Christmas Week ~ Day 6

{December Decor}

Welcome to the sixth and final day of Christmas Week here at Quilt Kisses.  Today I am sharing all of my quilty Christmas decorations.  We will start in my great room with an old table runner acting as a hearth stone by the fire place.

Then you can see the new table runner on the cabinet nearby.

The wreath table topper is on the end table.

And an old Santa quilt is by the stairs (with new family pictures!).

There are some new projects I shared earlier this week in the front room.

Two Christmas quilts are in my bedroom.  One is old and the other a recent finish.

Two more Christmas quilts are upstairs.

There is even more Christmas quilts and projects downstairs.

I love decorating for Christmas, especially with quilts!

Thank you for joining me for Christmas Week here at Quilt Kisses.  Now that I have shared my seasonal projects it will probably get quiet on the blog again.  I'm looking forward to all the family time and finishing up some other projects.

Merry Christmas from the Quilt Kisses Family!

November Decor

I enjoyed the Halloween decorations and quilts so much that it was hard to put them away.  At least I was able to pull out some November/late fall decorations. My November bunting is the only one I didn't sew, but I did make it at a craft night at church.

I folded two Halloween quilts so that the orange minky showed and put them in my cabinet.  I like how they look with the table runner I made in September.

An older mini quilt is on the kitchen table.

A Thimbleberries quilt is by the stairs along with Spring Race folded to see the minky and quilting.

It needs a little more color over there, so I have planned some more fall quilts.

I hope I have time to get to them later this month.  However, I have Christmas things I need to make and these will probably have to wait for next year.

My basement is still decorated for fall, but I have been itching to see what my new Christmas tree looks like...

My husband keeps expecting to come home from work and see some early Christmas decorations in the basement.  It hasn't happened... yet!

P.S.  I think he just wants me to put the tree up early so that he can put his trains up early

October Decor

I had so much fun decorating this month with lots of quilts.  I didn't quite realize how much I had for the month of October until I scattered it around the house and took pictures.

Here is an overall picture of my great room.

Mr. Bones, our glow in the dark skeleton, is by the stairs.

Halloween Hex is on the sofa.

The hexagon web is on the kitchen table.

And the little Pun'kin Boy is in the hallway.

Upstairs is Happy Haunting, an elephant blanket, and the wild quilting table runner.

I had to steal the elephant blanket off of one of the boys' beds for this picture, but doesn't it look nice with Happy Haunting?  Needless to say, it got stolen right back by a different boy.

I even rotated some mini quilts in my studio.  I hand pieced and hand quilted that little sunflower quilt over 22 years ago.

I am also happy to say that my sweet husband helped me hang up some quilts and racks in the basement.  It is now decorated for fall.

The Leafy Northern Wind is behind the sofa.

Autumn Race is in the entertainment center with a reversible fall runner.

Right now we can see Broomzelda.

Right next to the entertainment center is a cute scarecrow quilt started by my sister-in-law and finished by me.

I even have leafy table runners on the quilt cabinet and computer desk.

My husband started teasing me and singing, "She uses quilts in all of her decorating..." Sung to the tune of "Gaston" from the animated Disney's Beauty and the Beast.  At least quilts are better than antlers!

Just for fun, this is how empty the basement looked before.

Yep, a crazy quilt lady lives here.  ;)

September Decor and More

I was enjoying the red, white, and blue decorations so much that I just barely switched them around. I love how the red, orange, and yellow combination brightens up my great room.

I realized that I don't have anything else in that color combination.  So I pulled out my old lace table topper.  My mom always used one just like it on this table when I was growing up.  It brings back lots of memories.

Although, it makes me want to stop everything and make something red, orange, and yellow.  ;)

I do have a back to school quilt which I hung.

It is sweet, but not as bright.

Most of what little sewing time I had this summer went to making baby gifts.  Here are ten more, mostly for baby boys.  They aren't quite as interesting as quilts.  ;)

Two were quilted by my mom on the Bernina Q24 and eight were quilted by me with my Baby Lock Tiara.  They all have Hobbs 80/20 batting.  Half were Franken-Batts.  It felt good to use up batting scraps.

I did all of the bindings.

Now I need to go deliver them.

I often wonder if I should simplify my baby gifts, but then I always go back to these sweet little flannel quilts that are about 42 by 54 inches.  They are fun to make.

July Decor

Happy Fourth of July!  I have decorated with as much Red, White, and Blue as possible in my great room.  I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

Upstairs is decorated in a summery green, aqua, and navy.

Happy Summer!  Thanks for stopping by!

P.S.  The Lego flag is another one of Panda's creations.  The little Lego tree was Monkey's addition.

May and June Decor

{Plus What I've Been Up To...}

May is my purple and green month.

It is also my anniversary, Mother's Day, birthday month.  That totally makes me deserve my favorite color on the mantle.  ;)  The great room now has new furniture.

I fell in love with this piece of furniture at the store.  My husband even said, "That would look really good filled with your quilts."  Isn't he a sweetheart?

We also got new leather sofas.

That was our anniversary gift to each other.  The reason why we got new furniture there and also why I have been so busy is because we have also finished our basement!!!  We did as much of the work ourselves as we could.  It is wonderful having such a handy husband.

The entertainment center and sectional are now in the finished basement.

I love having the quilt ladder full of quilts again.  (Here is the tutorial for building it.)

Also in the same room is my quilt cabinet.  (Through the entry on the right is a future kitchen, so I guess the basement is not 100% finished.)

Gotta have a lot of places to keep/store/display quilts, right?

With so many quilts out on display throughout the house, I didn't actually change very much for June.  Really, I only changed the mantle to blue and green for June.

After the basement was finished, we have spent a lot of time working in the yard.  My husband also built these awesome garden boxes.

I'd like to think that with the basement practically finished and the yard/garden more complete that I'd have more time for quilting, sewing, and blogging.  But it is summer which is a fun family filled time.  Family will always come first.  Blogging will probably still be sporadic.

I hope you are all having a wonderful summer (or winter on the other side of the world).
