Cheerful Patch

This quilt was made for someone going through chemo therapy.  I have never met her, but she goes to church with my sweet sister-in-law.  I pieced the quilt top and got it ready for tying by adding the batting, backing, and binding.

I taught some of the other ladies my SIL goes to church with a little about quilting and how to tie the quilt.  Then we tied it together.  The quilt came home with me so that I could check it over and trim all the ties about the same length.

There are 6 each of 32 different fabrics from my "new stash"  (the fabric I bought when someone was closing their online fabric shop).  It was so much fun to use some of the new fabric.  The colors are bright and cheerful, so I have called it the "Cheerful Patch."

The binding is a cute darker pink polka dot fabric.

The backing is a sweet pink minky fabric I found in the clearance section of my LQS.

Here it is all ready for a cuddle on the new bench on my porch.  It's probably a good thing my SIL picked it up the day I took these pictures.  ;)

It has already been delivered.  The recipient told my SIL that it is her most favorite quilt ever and she takes it with her to all of her treatments.  Isn't that the best compliment a quilt can receive?
