More Bunting

After making my Patriotic and Christmas Bunting, I decided to make a whole bunch more.  I cut up all of the Riley Blake Banner Panels I had and arranged them in color order.  Then I arranged them into sets of nine.

I cut the white felt so that it was 1/8 inch bigger all of the way around the individual triangles.

Then I stitched around the triangles with my built-in walking foot.

I trimmed a quarter inch on top, and used the pinking rotary cutter an eighth inch away from the stitching.

Last, I added the Double Fold Bias Tape.  The packages are three yards long and that is the perfect length.

I kept working until I used up all of the felt that I had on hand.

Here are my January-May bunting.  I love them and am so excited to decorate my mantle each month.  Good thing I have a rainbow of daisies to rotate in and out of my white pitchers.

Now I need to go buy more felt to finish my sets and decide what to do with my extra triangles.

Jasmine

  6. These are great! And they look like a fast make, too. (Double win!) I won a Halloween bunting from Bernie at Needle and Foot and really enjoyed having it hanging on our mantle. Maybe you could use your extra triangles to make buntings with names for birthday celebrations. You could add some coordinating solids and applique letters on those pieces.
